Parade Route
Floats will line up on Manitoba Road at the Stop Sign at Ontario Ave beside the Scotia Bank Parking lot. We will begin marshalling the floats at 5 pm. We ask walkers to be dropped off in the Upper Plaza Parking Lot #2 (Debye's Pet World) and proceed by foot to the Scotia Bank Parking lot. The Santa Claus Parade will begin from the Scotia Bank parking lot at 6pm, will turn right onto Ontario Ave, and continue down the street until reaching the intersection, where they must then turn right and exit via Hillside Dr N. We ask that walkers exit to the right onto Quebec Road down towards the Rexall Parking lot.

Terms and Conditions
To participate, all businesses, and organizations are required to provide a certificate of insurance naming the City of Elliot Lake as additional insured. In addition, any vehicle that is entered in the float must provide proof of insurance. Proof of insurance can be emailed to events@elliotlake.ca
Our goal is to provide a safe parade for the community. We do not endorse minors (anyone under 18 years of age) on floats. We are encouraging minors to participate by walking along the side of floats or in groups in front or behind the float. All participants will walk with distance between them and the moving vehicle to ensure enough stop time for the driver.
If your organization or business decides to allow minors on their floats, please be aware that your organization or business is responsible for this action. The City of Elliot Lake’s insurance will not cover your business or organization in the event of a participant under the age of 18 years participating on a float. In addition, if the organization or business is to allow minors on their float, they must meet the following safety precautions:
- A certificate of insurance, with a minimum of 5 million liability, listing the City of Elliot Lake as additional insured and listing that they will cover any participant under the age of 18 years on a float in the parade;
- Fall prevention railings around the float;
- Adult (age 18+) supervision on the float with the minors.
